According to Robert M. Maciol, Sheriff of Oneida County, Hasimba C. Brown age 41 of Richmond, Virginia is in in custody after being apprehended in the Village of Whitesboro.
In mid-January of 2025, members of the United States Marshal’s Service Capital Region Fugitive Task Force requested the assistance of the United States Marshal’s Service New York / New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force – Utica Division which is comprised of members from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, City of Utica Police Department, Oneida County Probation, Town of New Hartford Police Department and U.S Marshals in attempting to locate and arrest Hasimba C. Brown.
Brown who is currently on parole in the Commonwealth of Virginia for a manslaughter conviction in the State of New York was wanted by the Chesterfield County Virginia Sheriff’s Office for the following charges:
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon – Felony
Abduction by force – Felony
Malicious assault – Felony
Burglary – Felony
Burglary with intent to commit murder – Felony
Robbery with serious bodily injury – Felony
Robbery with serious bodily injury (conspiracy) – Felony
Following an investigation into the matter, Task Force members were successfully able to take Brown into custody without incident in the Village of Whitesboro. Following his arrest, Brown was transported to the Oneida County Jail where he was lodged pending his arraignment.
On January 22nd, 2025, Brown was arraigned in Oneida County Court where he waived his extradition back to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Following his arraignment, Brown was remanded to the Oneida County Jail on a NO bail status pending his return to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
