At approximately 11:50AM Utica Police units were dispatched to Dewitt St regarding a ShotSpotter alert for multiple gunshots.
Upon arrival units located a vehicle that appeared to have struck a building on Erie St and upon approach noticed a male in the driver seat suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The Utica Fire Department was immediately contacted and the injured male was transported to Wynn Hospital. UFD personnel and staff at the hospital rendered emergency aid, and due to the condition of the victim he was flown to a Syracuse hospital for increased treatment. His condition will be updated as it becomes known.
