State Trooper Relieved of Duty following Arrest on Robbery, Criminal Mischief & Official Misconduct charges

On August 13, 2024, State Police arrested Christopher DiBartolo, age 47, for Robbery 1st degree (class “B” felony), Criminal Mischief 4th degree (class “A” misdemeanor), and Official Misconduct (class “A” misdemeanor).


DiBartolo, a New York State Trooper, was arrested following an investigation into an incident that occurred outside a residence in the village of Liberty in 2023. The male complainant, known to DiBartolo, came forward after he was involved in an incident with DiBartolo while he was on duty. The complainant reported that DiBartolo took personal property from him, causing damage.


DiBartolo was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and released on his own recognizance until the next court date scheduled for August 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.


DiBartolo has been suspended without pay from his position as a State Trooper.
