State Police investigate motorcycle fatal Interstate 81 in the town of Richland

On September 30, 2024, at 5:21 p.m., State Police responded to Interstate 81 southbound in the town of Richland for a motorcycle crash with injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Curtis S. Dailey, age 67, from Phoenix, NY, was traveling south on Interstate 81 in the driving lane. Dailey lost control of the motorcycle and exited the western shoulder, striking a guardrail.

Dailey was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
