Routine Traffic Stop On North Side Ends In Seizure Of Four Guns And Large Amounts Of Crack Cocaine And Molly:
On Tuesday, July 25th, 2023, around 11:50 p.m., Officers Fellows and Brauchle conducted a traffic stop near the 1100 block of North Salina Street due to a vehicle having extremely dark window tint and an illegal license plate cover over the rear plate. Inside the vehicle were three males. When speaking to the individuals, Officer Brauchle observed a magazine sticking out from one of the passenger's pockets. The Officers instructed all three men to put their hands on the dash.
Officers proceeded to search the men and the vehicle. They found a total of $4,698 dollars in cash, 4 guns, which were identified as a sawed-off .22 caliber semi-auto Ruger 10-22 rifle, a 9mm Glock 43 handgun, a 9mm Beretta USA Corp handgun, and a 9mm Smith and Wesson SD9VE handgun, and body armor. The Officers also found a black scale, and a large amount of illegal drugs, which were identified as Crack Cocaine and Molly, inside of a 'Paw Patrol' lunch box.
With the assistance of other officers, the three individuals were arrested. They are 44-year-old Delmetri Turner, 43-year-old Jermel Moore, and 36-year-old Willie Carter. All three men were transported and booked into the Onondaga County Justice Center. They are each facing 11 different charges, including Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree (packaging), Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, and Unlawful Purchase of Body Armor.
We want to thank the Officers involved in this case, who were able to seize four more guns off of City Streets, including an illegally modified semi-automatic rifle. Thanks to their efforts, there are also much less deadly drugs in our Community.
