Rome Police Patrol Division Responded To Union Street For a Report Of a Stabbing

On Thursday, September 5, 2024, at approximately 2:55 pm, Rome Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the 700 block of Union Street for a report of a stabbing.

Upon the officer’s arrival, they located a 36-year-old male lying in the grass. The male had injuries that appeared to have been caused by a sharp object to his hand and his abdomen. Officers provided medical assistance until paramedics arrived and he was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The victim has sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The victim is uncooperative with this investigation.

The responsible parties have been identified. This investigation is ongoing.
