Police Underwater Recovery Team recovered the body of a male jumper from the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge

On July 10, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., state troopers responded to the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge in the town of Ulster for a report of a male who jumped off the bridge. Investigation revealed that the male was riding a bicycle on the bridge before stopping mid-span and jumping.

The State Police Underwater Recovery Team (URT), Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, East Kingston Water Rescue, and New York State Police Aviation responded and searched the area for the body. The search was halted that evening due to darkness.

On the morning of July 11, 2024, the search was resumed and the body was located by The State Police Underwater Recovery Team that afternoon.
