Update January 6, 2025: The New York State Police have positively identified the deceased woman as Helen Pardini, age 69, of Poughkeepsie, NY. The investigation into her death is ongoing.
The State Police would like to acknowledge and thank the members of the public who reached out with information regarding this case.

Update December 10, 2024: The Dutchess County Medical Examiner has confirmed the deceased is a Caucasian female with brown eyes, weighs 112 pounds, 5 feet 5 inches tall, has gray hair, no scars, marks, or tattoos.

On December 6, 2024, the New York State Police in Rhinebeck and the Hyde Park Police Department began investigating the suspicious death of an unidentified woman found at the Vanderbilt Mansion historical site on Vanderbilt Park Road in Hyde Park, NY. At approximately noon on Friday a hiker observed the remains of the woman lying face down near the east shore of the Hudson River south of Bard Rock.
