Camden, NY – A two-vehicle crash in the Town of Camden on the evening of February 12, 2025, left one person injured, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
The accident occurred at approximately 8:06 p.m. on State Route 13 when a 2019 Ford SUV, driven by 66-year-old Janet Shannon, attempted a left-hand turn and failed to yield the right of way. As a result, her vehicle collided with a westbound 2007 Honda SUV operated by 28-year-old Caitlin Piersall.
Emergency responders evaluated Piersall at the scene before transporting her via Vineall Ambulance to Oneida Health Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene.
Authorities issued Shannon a citation for failing to yield, with a court appearance scheduled in the Town of Camden Court.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Camden Police Department, Camden Fire Department, Vineall Ambulance, and The Shop Towing. The accident remains under investigation.
