One Vehicle Rollover on Rt 840 resulted in DWI Arrest.

At approximately 2:00 pm this afternoon New Hartford Police and Fire Departments responded to Rt 840 near the Rt 12 southbound off-ramp for a reported one-vehicle rollover accident.

Upon arrival, Police found a 2008 Chevrolet Pick Up Truck had rolled over and came to rest on its side. The operator, later identified as Donald King, 34, of Herkimer, N.Y. was in need of assistance from Police and Fire to be extricated from within the vehicle. While investigating this incident at the scene Police conducted field sobriety tests and subsequently arrested King for Driving While Intoxicated. King nor anyone else sustained any injuries.

King was transported to The New Hartford Police Department where he was processed and released on Uniformed Traffic Tickets for the following charges:

1) NYS VTL 1180(a)-Speed Not Reasonable

2) NYS VTL 1128(a)-Failure To Maintain Lane/Moved From Lane Unsafely

3) NYS VTL 1192(3)-DWI -Driving While Intoxicated

4) NYS VTL 1192(2)-DWI- Driving While Intoxicated .08% B.A.C. or More.

Lanes of Rt 840 have been opened up after a brief closure by Police at the scene.
