NEW HARTFORD — The New Hartford Town Board has approved a local law that changes the zoning at Sangertown Square, paving the way for the construction of an apartment complex on the site.

The town and planning boards held a joint meeting and public hearing on Thursday, Jan. 23, where Pyramid Management Group, the owner of the mall, presented their development plans. During the hearing, several nearby residents expressed concerns about how the proposed residential development might affect their quality of life. In response, Planning Board Chair Heather Mowat reassured attendees that the board would work to minimize any potential impact on surrounding neighborhoods and ensure the changes bring positive improvements to the area.
