Head-On Collision in Westmoreland Sends Multiple to Hospital

Westmoreland, NY – A two-car crash late Tuesday night on State Route 5 resulted in multiple injuries, with all involved transported to The Wynn Hospital for evaluation, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.

The accident occurred on February 25, 2025, at approximately 11:34 P.M., when Indir Dzambic, 27, of Herkimer, was traveling eastbound in a 2010 BMW. Deputies determined that Dzambic failed to maintain his lane, crossed the center line, and collided head-on with a 2015 Toyota RAV4 traveling west.

The Toyota was operated by Ko Lay, 21, of Utica, with passengers Phari Dar, 45, and Ohma Ya, 25, both of Utica. Emergency crews from the Westmoreland Fire Department responded quickly, and all individuals involved were taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

Investigation and Emergency Response

Following an investigation, deputies determined that Dzambic was at fault for the crash.
