Craryville Man Arrested After Breaking Into Home

On October 13, 2024, the New York State Police in Livingston with the assistance of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Craryville man after he forced his way into the home of a prior relationship.

Investigation determined David A. Grant Jr., age 39, of Craryville, NY, forced entry into the residence of the victim through a bathroom window and struck the victim.  All in violation of a full order of protection.

Grant was charged with Burglary in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, Criminal Contempt in the 1st degree, a class E felony, Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree, and Criminal Contempt in the 2nd degree, both class A misdemeanors.

He was arraigned before the town of Claverack Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond and is next scheduled to appear before the court on October 18, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
