Couple Living in Someone Else’s Cobleskill Home Arrested

PRESS RELEASE On July 23, 2023, State Police of Cobleskill arrested Melissa Johnson, 44, of Albany, and Jesus I. Lanauze, 58, of Albany, NY, each for Criminal Trespass in the second degree, two counts of Criminal Tampering in the third degree, and Conspiracy in the sixth degree. On July 23, 2023, at about 6:31 p.m., Troopers responded to a home on State Route 7 in Cobleskill, NY, for the reports of a trespass. The investigation determined Johnson and Lanauze had been residing in the unoccupied house without permission from the owner for approximately a week. Further investigation discovered the couple also caused damage to the home and outbuilding. Both were arrested at the scene and transported to SP Cobleskill for processing.
